Tsum Valley Trek - 18 days

Namaste and welcome to Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, the Nepal Kameleon Holidays representative receives you and transfers you to the hotel. After a short refreshment, we briefly explain to you about the sightseeing trip and the preparation for the trek. Overnight at hotel. (A) 

Breakfast at the hotel. Then we set out for the sightseeing tour in Kathmandu, exploring some of the unique monumental sites that are enlisted in the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. Visit the Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). Visit Pashupatinath Temple Visit Boudhanath Stupa. Then drive back to the hotel and buy something that you want to take in trekking. Overnight at hotel. After the breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu, we drive to Sotikhola through the winding road exploring the Trishuli River valley. We can begin from Aarughat, but the road extension up to Soti Khola has shortened the itinerary of the Manaslu circuit trek. The road drive is about 9 hrs. Overnight at lodge/tea house. (B,L,D,A)

A long drive of the previous day makes you feel tired. It is the first walking day and begins after breakfast. We walk exploring the enticing landscape and forest, walking down and up to the Buri Gandaki River bank, through which we make an excursion. The trail is mixed, sometimes gentle and sometimes adventurous. Gradually, we reach to Machha Khola and take a rest. Overnight at lodge/tea house. (B,L,D,A)

Today's walk begins through the narrow gorge that makes you feel that it is going to be a little bit more challenging. We reach Khorlabesi and cross the stream. Walking further, we reach the natural hot spring. The suspension bridge marks the way across the River that escorts all the way to the juncture, locally called Dovan. The descending trail from here takes us to the bank of the River and still walking further, Jagat village is located on the way. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

Beginning the trek after breakfast, the trail is special attention-drawing. Walking to Sridibas through the rock chain, the moderate trail occurs which is also wide and gentle. Ghatta Khola lies on the trail after a gradual walk, which we cross and join the trail across the stream that steadily leads us to Philim, which is populated by the ethnic Gurung people. A step ahead lies our today's destination- Chisapani and take a rest. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

Today's trek begins above the Budi Gandaki River which escorts to Eklai Bhatti. The trail from there goes through the thicket forest, dominated by pine and rhododendron. Exploring the wonderful vistas, we reach Lho, which is the lunch point today. After a short break, trek down towards the bank of the River. Another turn is to climb uphill for one and a half hours. Crossing the bridge over the stream, Chumling lies a step ahead, which is today's destination. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

Heading from Chumling, we walk making the stream downhill and eventually, we will be greeted by the wonderful white peaks: Ganesh Himal and Boudha Himal. Enjoying the eye-catching sceneries, the trail leads us to Dumje, where the suspension bridge connects the way to Chokhangparo. Dealing the adventurous trail is challenging enough that we walk through the rocky boulder that is spread in a deep valley. Now, we are in Tsum Valley which strictly follows the non-sacrificer culture. We reach there quite early and explore the surrounding Gumba after lunch. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

The landscape is usually dry and the trail is easy and flat that will walk through on today's journey. After breakfast, we follow the streamlines on this sacred land that escorts gradually to Burgi village. It is an important aspect of the Tsum valley trek that you will get unique hospitality and lifestyle. The Milarepa cave near Burgi is an ancient cave that dates back to 2500 years. It is believed that the Buddhist saint Milarepa had meditated around the caves here. Trekking down to Burgi, we take the trail to Nile. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

After breakfast, the journey begins enjoying the wonderful views of the Tsum Valley beside the River. The altitude crops are seen growing here around, including barley and buckwheat. The journey to Mu Gompa is a short walk. After lunch, we visit around the Ani Gumba and back to Mu Gompa. Overnight at Gumba. (B,L,D,A)

This is a rest and exploration day. Walking around the exciting Tsum valley and exploring the monasteries can be the best idea. The Tibetan border is quite far from here. So, you enjoy walking around and taking pictures. Overnight at Gumba.(B,L,D,A)

Exploring some of the sacred sites and the valley itself, it's time to go back with sweet memory. On the return, we make a side trip to Rachen Gompa. The spiritual exploration makes our trip more fabulous. Then we trek down to Chokhangparo and rest. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

From Chokhangparo, we trek down the downhill trail. We find the Budi Gandaki River on our way back and follow it continually, which is pretty much a long excursion. Reaching Lho village, we take a rest. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

From Lho, the descending trail escorts gradually that meet to the Round Manaslu trail. Walking further, we reach Eklai Bhatti and trek further to Salleri, enjoying the picturesque greeneries and hilly terraces. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

After breakfast at Salleri, we trek down to Jagat which makes an exit from the restricted zone of Tsum valley. Reaching Tatopani (natural hot spring side), we have two options, either to stop there and enjoy this natural hot spring or trek further to Khorlabesi. People prefer to stay and enjoy natural hot springs. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

On the final day of the foothill excursion, we trek down from Tatopani to Soti Khola after crossing some suspension bridges and enjoying the Budi Gandaki Riverside. It is a wonderful River with blue water Soti Khola is the last point, where our trekking ends. Overnight at lodge. (B,L,D,A)

In the morning after breakfast, we drive from Soti Khola to Kathmandu with a long but beautiful drive through the countryside road for the first half and through the Prithvi highway on the second. Then, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel. (B,A)
