The bill has been submitted to the parliament about legalizing marijuana farming in different parts of Nepal in the American model, for certain purposes with strict rules and regulations. The United National Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC) has asked whether to prevent marijuana farming or open it, so the government of Nepal is positive for it. Countries like Canada have already opened marijuana farming not only for medical purposes but also for entertainment since 2018 A.D.

Good news for the trekkers. We will take you through the trail that also offers a side trip to the marijuana farm if it is possible. All other things will be preceded as per the rules and regulations of the government.

Arlond, a trekker from the USA, who had enjoyed Annapurna Base Camp Trekking in Nepal, had this curiosity when he saw the marijuana plants on the way. He gave an example of how this exists in the U.S. and the possibility of launching in Nepal too. His view was positive in the sense that if Nepal could open marijuana for medical purposes and also for the entertainment of tourists, it would be highly advantaged.

September-October-November (there will be green plants and the scenes seem fantastic)

January-February-March (hiking will be nice, but there will not be plants)

Note: you just need to note that you can do the hike throughout the year. The monsoon has become a bit tough, but still, we have been organizing this hike all the months of the year. Marijuana Route:- better to do in November-December-January.

Difficulty of the Hiking Route

The hiking route is so easy and enchanting. You will get enough time to explore the monastery, local villages, and the surroundings. The route is wide and has no technical section. This is the best hiking route for the family group hike. 

Day Hiking and Itinerary Customization Options

The itinerary of the Hike through Marijuana route can be customized as per your time and budget. 

Day Hike: Drive 3.5 hours (back and forth), 3-4 hours hike

01 night 02 Days Hike: 1.5 hours hike, exploration, and 3 hours hike. Overnight at the resort and next day 1.5 hours hike and drive back to Kathmandu (1.5 hours).
