Mardi Himal Trekking has emerged as a wonderful trip for adventure seekers in Nepal, which is not so much traffic. The trek has enticed trekkers from around the globe to spend a magnificent week in the Himalayan region of Annapurna. It is suitable for family groups as well and escorts you through the isolated trail inside the rhododendron woods.
Driving to Kande from Pokhara, it leads you via the amazing settlement of the Australian Camp. The impressive Annapurna vistas energize you to explore the alpine terrain. As the trail becomes narrow once you hike higher, you need to be aware of the slippery section. Forest Camp, Low Camp, and High Camp are some of the best places for overnight stays. You will get an opportunity to enjoy the typical Nepali, Indian, and continental cuisine throughout the trek.
Best Seasons for the Mardi Himal Trek
To grab the best views of the Mardi Himal range, Annapurna, and Fishtail, trekking in March April and May is highly recommended. If you want to grab another season, then hike to Mardi Himal in September, October, November, and December. A couple of months in winter: January and February are also amazing months for the delightful views, but you need to crawl around wearing the crampons.
Spring and autumn offer the best views and the weather is suitable for trekkers. The weather becomes warm during the day and it will be cold during the morning and evening (night). We hardly expect rain in this season, but carrying a light raincoat is the best idea.
Accommodation and Meals on the Trek
As aforementioned, Forest Camp, Low Camp, and High Camp are the overnight stops on the way if you begin the trek from Kande via Australian Camp. The lodges/hotels offer clean accommodations with warm blankets and comfortable beds. Hot showers are available in the lodges along with the warm dining hall.
The food items vary according to your preference. What do you want to have? Momo, Chowmin, Dal Bhat menu, Chhapati curry, noodle soup, Thenthuk, pizza, and many more. For the trek, having food with enough soup is essential that keep you safe from being dehydrated.

About Altitude Sickness
Mardi Himal Trek is a moderate foothill excursion in Annapurna. If you follow some of the easy procedures, you will not be affected by mountain sickness due to the high altitude. They are like drinking enough water every day, drinking tea/coffee, having meals with soup, avoiding smoking and alcoholic drinks, and not moving forward having some symptoms.
Besides this, you need to carry some medicines that help you to control altitude sickness.
How to Book the Mardi Himal Trek? How to pay?
There are several trusty trekking agencies run by local entrepreneurs using local manpower and we recommend you book the trek with such companies. Nepal Kameleon Holidays is one of the local trekking agencies in Nepal and has gained the trust of the trekkers.
Regarding the payment, about 30% of the total trip cost should be transferred into the bank account of the company in advance for the trip confirmation. The rest of the payment should be paid once you arrive at the hotel in Kathmandu.
