Annapurna Base Camp Trek is suitable for all types of travelers, from solo females to groups, from mild trekkers to adventure seekers, family groups with children, and so on. The maximum altitude of this trek is 4130 meters, which is the ABC itself, surrounded by giant Himalayan boulders.
Mt. Annapurna (8091 meters) is the 10th highest Himalayan peak in the world.
There are mainly two popular trekking itineraries for trekkers, although there are some more. One leads you via Ghorepani Poon Hill which lets you an opportunity to explore the brilliant sunrise view from Poon Hill and an epic excursion through the rhododendron woods which gradually leads you to ABC with several ups and down. The second option is pretty much short and if you are timely bounded, book the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Leaving the lower circuit of the Ghorepani Ghandruk trail, the trail splits towards Annapurna base camp descending to Chhomrong. The trail from here is almost uphill that leads you all the way to Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) base camp and further to the ABC. It is also known as the natural amphitheater as the base is like a theater stage. During the winter, the entire region will be covered by snow that looks awesome.
The cultural aspect of ABC Trek is also rich. The trail is dotted with the ethnic groups- known as Gurung and Magar. They do have their distinct language, customs, festivals as well as hospitality.
