    Trip Overview

Welcome to Pikey Peak Jeep Tour from Kathmandu. We offer 2-night 3-day and 3-night 4-day jeep trips to this wonderful land, which is the lower part of the Solukhumbhu region. If you are timely bounded for the long trek to Everest base camp or you may not be able to walk for 10-12 days for some reason, this is the best tour package to view the exclusive Himalayan range- including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Number, Dudhkunda Peak, and the neighboring summits.

After the extension of the motor road, Pikey Peak is accessible by 4WD Overland Jeep Tour from Kathmandu. Enjoying the delightful Riverside scenery, take a wonderful road trip to Dhap, which is the first overnight stay, and the next day to Bhulbhule, near Pikey Peak Base Camp.

Pikey Peak Overland Jeep Tour is a hassle-free trip suitable for all ages and all types of travelers. It’s more accessible with the budget, quieter than the Everest base camp trek, and extremely rewarding with the views of the majestic Himalayan peaks.

    High Altitude and Acclimatization

This is another impressive part of the tour/hike. The ultimate height is 4065 meters above sea level, which is not risky in terms of high altitude sickness. In case you feel slight dizziness, you can have hot soup with ginger and garlic. Drinking tea/coffee will be great for you. So, due to the altitude and quick accessible trip from Kathmandu, Pikey Peak Overland Jeep Tour/Hike is suitable for all age groups and types of travelers. This is the best trip, if you are traveling in a family with kids too.

    Best Time for the Tour

Book your trip finding the best suitable season for you.

    March-April-May

Can you believe that the trip surpasses your imagination in spring? The entire region is dominated by the rhododendron woods and they bloom extremely in spring. Get enticed with the mind-blowing views. Spring is a favorable time for the jeep tour and hike.

    September-October-November

These months are great if you are with your family groups. The temperature will be favorable (15-20 degrees during the day and 2-3 degrees in the night, especially in November). September-October is superb with cheerful daytime weather and temperature.

    December-January

Welcome to the winter jeep tour to Pikey Peak. You will encounter the snow and the entire surroundings look brilliant. It becomes unbelievable that even small hills look like snowy peaks in mid-winter in this place. The white surroundings make you spellbound. But as I mentioned, you may need a minimum of 4 days for this tour.

    Food and Accommodation

General food items are available in the hotels/lodges. However, due to the altitude and chill weather, you will definitely love Dal Bhat (rice, lentil, curry, pickle) which makes your tummy full. Except that, you can have noodle soup, chapatti, curry, etc.

Pikey Peak route has basic but wonderful lodges. Rooms are cozy and nice but do not expect luxury. Electricity is not guaranteed always, so you should manage the charge in your camera or phone with a power bank backup so that you will not miss nice views. Hot showers can be expected, but it depends on where you stay.

    Jeep and Professional Driver

We offer a 4WD Jeep for our travelers so that it becomes useful even on off-road. Drivers are professional and have been driving in the Himalayan altitudes and terrain like Manang and Mustang.

    Itinerary

    • Day 01

Drive Kathmandu to Dhap (2932 meters-230 kilometers).

Driving about 230 kilometers from Kathmandu, you reach Dhap, a place which is at the border point of Solu and Okaldhunga. From here, the trail diverts towards the Pikey Peak Base Camp. However, there are several choices as you can also initiate the trip from Pattale. There are nice hotels in Dhap, so this is the right place for an overnight stay.

    • Day 02

Drive Dhap-Jhapre-Bhulbule. Hike to Pikey Peak via Boudha and hike down to Bhulbhule.

Having an early breakfast, drive to Bhulbhule via Jhapre. Driving is possible up to Boudha. So, a short hike (1 hour) escorts you to the top of Pikey Peak, which is just awesome. The majestic Himalayan peaks- Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Numbur, Kanchenjunga, Dudh Kunda, and the neighboring peaks can be explored from the top point. After exploring and taking an abundant number of pictures, hike down to Bhulbhule and take a rest. If you travel to Pikey Peak in Spring, you can hardly believe how exclusive is the surrounding with rhododendron blooming. Overnight at the lodge. If the point is fully booked, a short hike down to Jhapre will be the best option.

    • Day 03

Drive back to Kathmandu (235 kilometers).

Good morning Solu-Pikey Peak. Having breakfast, drive back all the way to Kathmandu with some stops on the way.

If the provided schedule isn't suitable for you, we are able to create personalized travel arrangements according to your preferences and requirements.
