The Marijuana Day hike in Kathmandu is a rewarding day trip around Kathmandu Valley. There are some regions, where marijuana plants are naturally grown up and offer fascinating beauties for our hikers. The commercial trade of marijuana is extremely illegal in Nepal; however, walking through the marijuana route around Kathmandu is a different level of experience.
From Kathmandu, the trip begins after a couple of hours car/jeep/hiace/bus ride. The scenic landscape and the Himalayan views in the northern part (on a clear day) accompany you. You will reach the monastery on a ride. The monastery is known as Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery. The history of this monastery is rich and related to the re-birth of Lord Buddha.
The foothill excursion begins from the premises of the monastery. The route is almost downhill, but it's easy. On the way, you will encounter some of the naturally grown-up marijuana routes. It's something pleasant and to see the marijuana surroundings is a prime attraction of this hike. Some of the parts are out of the hiking route, so it needs to be known the trail.
During the hike, you will cross three suspension bridges and encounter local people. You will hardly see foreign trekkers on this route as the hike will be customized by Nepal Kameleon Holidays. It's a surprise package.
Note: The marijuana hike is just a walk to show you the marijuana fields that are naturally grown. We are not traders and don't encourage the trade. Smoking Marijuana or its trade is illegal.
