Looking for the most fascinating road trip in Nepal? Nepal Kameleon Holidays has designed the most stunning Jeep Tour in Nepal, consisting of 21 days. It is culturally impressive and naturally rewarding. The tour includes the cultural capital of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur along with the caves of Guru Rinpoche and Saint Milarepa in Manang and Mustang. Among them, Saint Milarepa Cave of Manang, 100 Lama Cave of Manang along with Ranchung Chungsi Cave, Luri Gompa, Lo Ghekar Monastery (Ghar Gumba), and Choser Cave of Mustang are major highlights of the tour.

The tour starts from Kathmandu exploring the medieval sites- temples and Stupas. Then it escorts you to the blessed land of Saint Milarepa-Manang. It is a semi-arid landscape, where one can explore the ancient Tibetan Buddhist communities, and their spiritual lifestyle, a cave where Maha Siddhi Guru Saint Milarepa meditated and the natural aura of the Annapurna Himalayan range. Travelers are rewarded by the apple farms of Bhratang and welcomed with Apple Cider.

Manang is a hit-list of trekkers and travelers as it is nestled in the Himalayan terrain at an altitude of 3500 meters. It is a base for the trekkers that cross one of the highest Himalayan passes in the world- Thorong La Pass during their Annapurna Circuit Trekking. On the other hand, trekkers also target Tilicho Lake from Manang.

    Next Part Mustang Jeep Tour

Pokhara opens the gateway to the Mustang Jeep Tour and is the second part of this stunning tour. Mustang Jeep Tour is a precious one that escorts you to the Tibetan Buddhist cultural epicenter. Upper Mustang is such a spiritual land, where Guru Rinpoche meditated and he stayed there during the 8th century while chasing a demon from Tibet. At that time, people built the ancient Lo Ghekar Monastery (Ghar Gumba), which is regarded as the oldest monastery in the old, because it was built before the monastery in Tibet was built.

During the Mustang Jeep Tour, you will be exploring Monasteries in Marpha, Jharkot, Muktinath, Kagbeni, Chhusang, Ghami, Tsarang, Marang, Lomanthang and Choser Valley. These are spiritual centers, where people get delightful cultural attractions and get to know spiritual education.

Along with the cultural beauties, Upper Mustang and Lower Mustang have abundant natural attractions. There are caves, Lakes, flat cultivated lands, and gorges/cliffs. The red cliffs of Dhakmar, Luri Gompa Cave, Choser Cave, and Chungsi Cave are eye-catching sceneries. The gorges on the way to Upper Mustang are just outstanding. Even in Lower Mustang, you will see the wide range of apple orchards and the Himalayan freshwater Lake.

    Best Time for the Tour

Grab the main season to travel and get the immense pleasure of the iconic jeep tour in the Himalayas.

    March-April-May-till mid-June

The season starts in March. It is just the beginning of the season from the chilling cold to the sunny days and magnificent weather. Spring welcomes you with various wildflowers like rhododendrons along with alpine flowers. This is a beautiful time. April-May is great to travel in the alpine altitude as it is so favorable in terms of weather.

    Mid-September-October-November

This is another wonderful season for the Manang Mustang Overland Jeep Tour. The monsoon is gone after the mid-September usually and the sunshine comes. October is the festival season in Nepal- so,  a delightful touch of festival with your tour offers you a lifetime experience. The days are sunny and warm with a little colder night. October-November is just a perfect time to travel in the Himalayan region.

    Food and Accommodation

Both Manang and Mustang regions have nice and clean mountain hotels and lodges, facilitated with attached bathrooms and hot showers. They have cozy rooms and wonderful dining halls.

The food is great in both parts. They offer a typical food menu, Indian, and continental cuisine. Dal Bhat Power-24 Hour’-have you heard it? Yes, the slogan is of Nepal. Dal Bhat (rice, lentil, curry, pickle) is the main dish of Nepal that makes your tummy full. Similarly, Chapati with vegetables, Chowemin, Mo: Mo (dumplings), noodles fry, soup, and other items are available in Manang and Mustang. Although some of the restaurants offer pizza, they are not the same taste you eat at your place.

    Road to Manang

The road to Manang is quite thrilling, but it is highly rewarding at the same time. The initial phase is breathtaking, especially reaching Tal and ahead due to the narrow road and jaw-dropping cliffs. But for adventure lovers, what is the fun if the route is not so thrilling?

    Road to Mustang

Well, the road to Mustang is fine in most of the parts. However, the initial part of the road includes some technical sections, which can be off-road and bumpy. So, you should be prepared for 2-3 hours of tough road and once you enter into the Mustang, the road is fantastic. The Lower Mustang region has black-top roads in most of the places and even if the Upper Mustang road is not black-top, it’s great.
