    Trip Overview

    Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar Lake are sacred pilgrimage destinations for the Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Thus, for Indians, it is a mecca. Millions of people make a pilgrimage tour to Mt.     Mt. Kailash is the head of any Hindu pilgrimage destination in the world. It is the abode of Lord Shiva, who meditated and made a significant presence in Hinduism. Mansarovar Lake is the holy Lake, which is a giant blue Lake. The tour can be extended to Lhasa city for a quick tour and to experience the cultural prosperity of Tibetan Buddhism. The fly-out tour from Lhasa takes you back to Kathmandu or the drive-out tour backs from Kailash and Mansarovar via Kerung.

    We have some fixed departures joining the group from Kathmandu-Kerung-Kailash-Mansarovar-Kathmandu by jeep. We also organize private tours for the groups on any date.

    Itinerary

    • Day 01

      Kathmandu – Kerong (2900m) 150km.

      Kathmandu to Kerung is 175 km drive towards north. The scenic valley, rice fields, gorges and countryside looks dramatic. Overnight at the hotel. 

    • Day 02

      Rest day for acclimatization.

      Kerung/Keyrong is located a around 2800 meters altitude, which is quite high for the tour. So, we recommend to stay one more day acclimatizing in the high altitude of the Tibetan terrain. On this day, you can explore around the border region and see the surroundings. Overnight at the hotel. 

    • Day 03

      Kerong to Saga (4400m) 235km.

      The first day drive enters into the Tibetan highland after completing the paper check. The enchanting views of the Himalayan range- Mt. Langtang Lirung, Shishapangma and Gaurishanker accompany you. You may see the yak herds on the way. You pass through several places like Karru Ongchen and Peiku tso Lake (4400m). Crossing the Holy River Brahmaputra, reach Saga and stay there. Overnight at the hotel/guest house. 

       

    • Day 04

      Drive Saga to Manasarover (4550m) 380km.

      The picturesque road trip commences from Saga passing through Zhongba and Paryang. Then you will get the impressive views of the Holy peak- Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. The side scenery of impressive Chiu Monastery becomes visible on the way. Driving further, from a viewpoint, the delightful scenery of the Lake and Kailash peak look dazzling. Overnight at the hotel/guest house.

       

    • Day 05

      Manasarover to Darchen (4600m). 40 km

      Paying homage to Lake Mansarovar and Darshan of Mount Kailash. Even the view of a giant peak Gurla Mandhata 7694m just across the lake can be witnessed amazingly. Darchen is a point from where the Kora journey of 53 km commences. As it is in the high altitude, it's really important to take a rest and acclimatize. Overnight at the hotel/guest house. 

       

    • Day 06

      Darchen to Derapuk 4800m( Kora start) first day 18km.

      With exciting feet, you move on the excursion after having breakfast at Darchen. The surroundings look so amazing with a beautiful rocky cliffs and grerat view of the sky. THhe 18 km tour takes almost 7 hours to cross through. Overnight at the hotel/guest house/tented camp.

       

    • Day 07

      Derapuk to Zutulpuk (4750m) Via Dolmala Pass (5634m) 19km.

      Hiking from Derapuk to Zutulpuk is the toughest section of this trip, but the spiritual sense is so high today. You cross the Dolma La Pass of 5670 meters. A short relax and meditation offer you a delightful experience. Then hike further to the holiest place, alled Zutulpuk, where saint Milarepa had performed some dort of miracles. Overnight at the local guest house/twnted camp. 

       

    • Day 08

      Zutulpuk to Darchen 14km ( finish kora) last day then drive to Saga.

      The last day of Kora, commence the hike from Zutulpuk and reach the base camp, which is Darchen. The walking distance will be 14 km in total and you drive to Saga after the trip completion. Overnight at the hotel/guest house. 

    • Day 09

      Saga to Kerong.

      It's all the way drive back to Kerong from Saga. Overnight at the hotel/guest house. 

    • Day 10

      Kerong to Kathmandu.

      Having breakfast, we drive all the way from Kerung to Kathmandu in Nepal's soil. Arriving at Kathmandu, transfer to your respective hotel.

    Further Information on the Tibet Tour

    Most importantly, all travelers traveling in Tibet are kindly requested to bear in mind that Tibet being remote and isolated by the most formidable Himalayan ranges remains still one of the most captivating but least developed parts of the world. The facilities for the tourists although being upgraded are still on a basis and limited scale. So, the visitors are requested not to have high expectations in terms of facilities in Tibet. However, we will put all our efforts to make your journey as pleasant as possible.

    Besides, the road between Tibet and Nepal is not up to the standard, it is rough, bumpy, and full of bends. Particularly, during monsoon (June-August), it can be temporarily obstructed by landslides and erosion. So, a bit of sporty wear and shoes are much-advised facilitation for the travelers to walk over the landslides.

    Overcoming Altitude Problem:

    Traveling in Tibet is an adventure involving high altitudes and could be strenuous. So far, most visitors have only minor effects from the altitude. However, we advise specially the guests with known heart or lung, or blood diseases to consult their doctor before traveling. Mild headache, fever, loss of appetite, or stomach disorder can take place before acclimatization.

    Our advice: drink 3 liters of water minimum a day. Don't exhaust yourself so much and breathe deep and take rest more than usual.

    Booking and Visa Process:

    Minimum 2 weeks in advance a firm booking with full payment along with full passport copy/details (including full name, DOB, place of Birth, Passport No. Date of Issue and Expiry, Profession, Sex, Home Address, Tel No, Office College Name and Address with Contact no, etc) should reach us. We arrange China/Tibet Visa from Kathmandu. For the Visa procedure, 3 full working days are required with a condition that clients should be available in Kathmandu.

    Cancellation:

    50 percent of the tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee if you cancel the tour within 7 days prior to the start of the tour. No refund, thereafter, also no shows, delay arrivals, or whatsoever reasons.

    Risk Liability

    We shall always put all efforts into making your journey smooth and pleasant. However as all Tibet Tours are run strictly under Tibet Tourism Authority, its agents shall not be responsible for any change or cancellation of the programs due to any unavoidable circumstances such as road blockade, flood, snow, unrest, cancellation of flight, delayed arrivals, sickness or accidents, any extra cost incurring there of shall be borne by the clients. So, it is most advisable that clients have full insurance against medical and personal accident risks, cancellation insurance is also most advised from your home country.
