    Buddhist Sites Tour in Nepal is an introduction to the Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal, including some of the famous Buddhist sites and camps. This 07 Nights/ 08 Days Buddhist tour begins from Kathmandu, with visiting some famous UNESCO-listed Buddhist sites. Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa are among them. Namobuddha monastery and Lumbini are other extremely popular Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in Nepal that are covered by this tour package. Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

    Kathmandu

    Kathmandu has various Buddhist heritage sites. Among them, you will visit Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, and visit a monastery. 

    Pharping

    Pharping has globally renowned sites, where Guru Rinpoche meditated in two caves- Asura Cave and Yanglesho Cave. At the same time, you will be witnessing 118 feet tall statue of Padmasambhava. 

    Halesi

    Halesi has one of the most popular Buddhist caves in Nepal. Maratika Cave is a significant cave, where Guru Rinpoche came and meditated, attained enlightenment and immortality along with his consort Mandarava. 

    Namobuddha Monastery

    Namobuddha Monastery-Kavre is widely renowned for its amazing structure. However, the story of the reincarnation of Lord Buddha as a prince and his sacrifice is widely praised. 

    Lumbini

    Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, where this enlightened spirit was born as a prince, and spent 29 years. Then he left the palace; and went to India and attained enlightenment.

    Itinerary

    • Day 01

      Kathmandu Sightseeing (Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and a monastery)

      The day begins after breakfast. Today, explore a couple of UNESCO-listed world heritage sites- Boudhanath and Swayambhunath stupa that is located in the heart of Kathmandu city. It's amazing to see the prayer flags fluttering in the vicinity of the sites. Then we manage the tour by visiting a nearby monastery and exploring the spiritual lifestyles of nuns and monks. After exploration, return back. Overnight at the hotel. 

    • Day 02

      Visit Asura Cave and Yanglesho Cave.

      Asura Cave and Yanglesho Cave are sacred caves of Guru Rinpoche, where he attained enlightenment and re-enlightenment. Guru Rinpoche meditated on Vajrakilaya, who is a deity to remove all the obstacles in the journey of enlightenment. Guru Rinpoche began his practice of deep meditation emphasizing the deity Yangdak Heruka. Guru Rinpoche and Shakyadevi (daughter of the King of Nepal) both attained the third vidyadhara level, ‘vidyadhara of the great seal, or mahamudra’ in the Yanglesho Cave.     • Day 03

      Fly to Bhairahawa, drive to Lumbini. Lumbini Sightseeing.

      Flying from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa is a half an hour's trip. Landing at Bhairahawa, drive to Lumbini and the sightseeing begins. Explore the birthplace of Lord Buddha and the entire spiritual setting in Lumbini Square. Maya Devi temple, Ashoka Pillar, Garden, and monasteries of various countries are prime attractions in Lumbini. You feel spiritually satisfied and feel the tranquility of the entire region after the tour. Overnight at the hotel.  

    • Day 04

      Visit Tilaurakot and fly back to Kathmandu.

      Located at a distance of 24 km from Lumbini, Tilaurakot houses the remains of Kapilavstu and is considered to be the place where Lord Gautam Buddha spent 29 years of his life. Its unearthing is marked as a significant event that reveals the historical life of Gautama Buddha. After visiting Tilaurakot, drive to the airport and fly back to Kathmandu.

    • Day 05

      Drive to Maratika Cave, Halesi via Namobuddha Monastery.

      It takes about 2 hours to drive from Kathmandu to Namobuddha Monastery, Kavre. It is a real epitome of Buddhist cultural prosperity at this location. The elegant monastery is located at the top of the hill. Exploration of the spiritual surroundings, enjoying greenery views, knowing the story behind the name Namobuddha, and watching fluttering prayer flags throughout the jungle is a different level of experience. After visiting Namobuddha monastery, drive further to Maratika Cave, which is a 7-hour trip through the hillside road. Overnight at the resort. 

    • Day 06

      Explore around Maratika Cave

      The Maratika cave is such a significant cave, where Mahasiddhi Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) meditated with his consort, Lhacham Mandarava, after coming from India. It is such a sacred cave, where both received the blessings of immortality from Buddha Amitayus.  It's a great spiritual experience to explore around the caves, hillside, and the myths of Guru Rinpoche, Lord Mahadev, and Kirant King. The countryside looks dramatic. Overnight at the resort.

    • Day 07

      Drive back to Kathmandu.

      Om Mani Padme Hum. After having breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu, which is an eight-hour journey. Then a little celebration will take place at a restaurant. Overnight at the hotel. 

    • Day 08

      Departure.

      It's time to bid farewell after such impressive Buddhist sites. Our representative will drop you at the airport on your time.
